Hare krishna 🙏
I began my true spiritual journey after coming to Japan. I come from a religious family where spiritual practices were mostly followed in a ritualistic way. When my mother began her journey in Krishna consciousness, I followed her by imitating her chanting and aarti, without deeply understanding the philosophy.
After coming to Japan, I gradually came to understand the true meaning of Krishna consciousness and how to develop a personal relationship with Krishna. By staying connected with senior devotees at the temple and following their guidance, I learned how to love and serve Radha–Krishna, which I now understand to be the true purpose of life.
My Reason`s to join ISKCON
1. The senior devotees who created a safe and spiritually nurturing environment where thoughts are accepted and respected. Although the community is small in number, the connection with them is very deep. I may have left one home behind in India, but Krishna has given me a much bigger home—the temple in Japan.
2. ISKCON provides the true and authentic way to understand Krishna. Especially in ISKCON Japan, we are blessed with the opportunity to associate with highly qualified gurus and senior devotees who help us find answers to life’s deeper questions.
MOTIVATION
I cannot clearly say what motivates me to continue serving in Krishna consciousness. In general, loving and helping others gives me peace. However, recently I learned about the pain Srimati Radharani experienced when Krishna left for Mathura and later Dwarka. I am incapable of loving Krishna in such a pure and selfless way, but I sincerely desire to serve Srimati Radharani in any way possible. So the opportunity to serve Srimati Radharani and her devotees at the temple is what truly motivates me to continue following the path of Krishna consciousness.
