1962: This was planned before US voyage but did not materialize.

Srila Prabhupada’s 1st Visit:

    •   In early 1969, Layover
    •   At Haneda Airport in Tokyo
    •   Accompanied by Kirtananda Swami
    •   On the way to India to recuperate from ill-healthSrila Prabhupada’s 2nd Visit:
    •   First official visit to ISKCON Japan.
    •   In August 1970.

 Bhanu Swami (Bhanu Swami has Japanese body but he was born and raised in Canada that had no other Asian in it. After graduating college he came to Japan to study Japanese and at that time met Sudama Swami and started going to the temple, his name at that time was Bruce Enamoto)

  •   At Shibuya Centre.
  •   Stayed in Harajuku near Meiji Shrine. Morning walks in Meiji Gardens.
  •   Accompanied by Brahmananda Swami, Devananda Swami, Tamal Krishna Goswami, Madhuvisa Swami,Kartikeya Swami (Srila Prabhupada’s servant), Kirtananda Swami and Karandhar Prabhu.
  •   On the way to India along with high profile Sannyasi disciples to start preaching there.
  •   Highlights:
    • ✓  Signed book publishing contract with Dai Nippon Printing Company to print Krishna Book.
    • ✓  Janmashtmi 1970 & Srila Prabhupada Vyasa Puja Celebration in Tokyo
    • ✓  Satyadev Prabhu & Bhanu Swami joined
    • ✓  Harinaam Sankirtan in Ginza in TokyoSrila Prabhupada’s 3rd Visit:
  •   In April 1972 for 2 weeks
  •   At Takao Centre
  •   Highlights:
    • ✓  Gave Sannyasa to Sudama Prabhu

  •   Japanese government started to be suspicious about preaching activities because foreign devotees werecarrying out missionary activities on tourist visa.
  •   Highlights:
    • ✓  Immigration did not allow Srila Prabhupada to enter Japan. Bhanu Swami and Satyadev Prabhu had to convince the immigration. Finally they agreed to allow him in.
    • ✓  Initiated Shricaranam PrabhuOther Japanese Initiated Devotees by 2000:
